Hello, my children have asked for a boat for Christmas. Sounds awesome, right? Unfortunately the boats I can afford are not water worthy and the ones that are, I cannot afford.
Here is my suggestion: If someone who loves the water but doesn't want the hassle of owning a boat (storage, insurance, etc) were to loan me $3000 soon, I would sign a contract allowing the person to lease the boat for 12 months. The lease would allow for you to take the boat out once a month (you pay for gas). Local places where you can rent similiar boats charge $180 a day.
In addition, I will pay you $125 per month for 12 months. Effectively, half the price of the boat.
BONUS INCENTIVE: If an agreement can be reached in 7 days, I will guarantee an additional $500 paid to you in March 2013 as a thank you for your generosity.

Important Safety Tips
  • Meet the seller and test drive before you buy.
